Embedding a YouTube video in Joomla! 1.5

There are actually several ways to go about embedding a YouTube video into an article in Joomla! 1.5, but there is a plugin that makes it dead simple. You can download the plugin here.

Step 1:

Download the plugin and install it.

To install it go to joomla backend -> Extension -> Install/Uninstall

Step 2:

Go to Plugins and enable plugin

Extensions -> Plugins   find the plugin and click enable.

Step 3:

Go to youtube video page you want to embed

take a look at video url from browser , it should look like this:

Step 4:

Go to the article page where you want to embed the youtube video and put the code:

{ youtube}xxxxxxx{ /youtube}

where xxxxx is the video ID you took from the URL in Step 3
